Melissa Quintero is a Colombian contemporary artist based in Miami. Born in Barranquilla, Colombia, she was raised in Atlanta before returning to Colombia at the age of fourteen. She later earned her degree in architecture in Bogotá and spent fourteen years practicing architecture in Bogotá and Florida, including six years with a luxury residential firm in Palm Beach. In 2026, she left architecture to dedicate herself fully to her artistic practice.

Working primarily with acrylic and concrete, Quintero explores how humanity coexists within the structures that shape our lives. Influenced by her architectural background, concrete becomes a symbol of weight, structure and an often-overlooked beauty, while color represents our humanity; our emotions, relationships, and resilience. Through abstraction, her work reflects on the ways we navigate life's complexities, finding meaning and beauty within the realities that shape us.

Quintero's practice is rooted in the belief that no one has life completely figured out. We are all navigating love, grief, hope, uncertainty, and constant change. Guided by her own journey and a deep sense of faith, she paints as a way of exploring what it means to find beauty and purpose in everyday life. Her hope is that each painting offers a quiet reminder to pause, reflect on how far you've come, and find comfort in knowing that the emotions we carry connect us all.
